@nashtimbo0: Childcare prices, omg. It’s been a while but we are back on the market for childcare and we cannot believe the costs involved nowadays. What are you currently paying for childcare? #childcarecost #childcare #daycare #expensive

It depends on where you are. I'm in Florida, and charge $210 a week for full time. Centers around here are age based and charge about $250 depending on age.
Also, I'm barely surviving on this income and should probably increase my tuition.

Iowa daycare Director here. It all depends on where you’re from as well if you’re in a bigger city, it is through the roof but for an infant, it is 700 a month at our center.

Registered in home Iowa daycare provider here. I think the biggest thing that has changed over the years is that being a registered provider means that is your career. We are no longer just babysitters with a TV on keeping kids alive. I care for eight full-time children for 10 and a half hours a day Monday through Friday and then have an additional one to two hours a day of paperwork and cleaning and prepping for the next day. I don't know what you make per hour but I make less than $20 per hour. I am the teacher, cook, janitor, secretary, business manager/owner, I am the everything!

I charge $350 a week. Home made, quality food is provided. I do curriculum and have a Montessori-ish way. I’m providing for parents who want something specific for their children, not just keeping them alive until pick up. Also liability insurance is a significant cost.

I used to make a little over $4,000 a month to nanny one child. Bougie area and honestly I was underpaid for everything I did. Going daycare rates in the area was $1,700 for half days & $2,500 for full days (as an average)

We are in a low cost of living state and the cheapest is probably around $1400/mo. When my second was born, I stayed home and opened a home daycare for about 4 years. My teacher salary wouldn't have covered childcare for both kids, and I had a third baby during that time too!

My great nephew came to live with us in 24. I quit my job. It wasn’t worth it. He’s in school, and I volunteer there, do stuff in the community/our home and care for him.
