@942south: The allegations surrounding Texas Roadhouse have gone viral, and now the company is pushing back, saying the claims circulating on social media are false and that there is no credible evidence connecting its employees to the alleged behavior. But a lot of people aren't convinced, especially because one of the biggest claims involves an alleged Facebook group said to have around 400,000 members, supposedly made up of people working in the restaurant industry. That's where people are asking questions. How does something involving a group allegedly that large suddenly get dismissed as completely fake without people wanting to know more about where the screenshots, posts, and allegations actually came from? Now, that doesn't mean the allegations are true. A Facebook page or group having hundreds of thousands of members wouldn't automatically prove that the accusations made about those members are true either. Screenshots can be manipulated, fake accounts exist, and misinformation spreads extremely fast on social media. At the same time, people have every right to question the situation instead of immediately accepting either side's version of events. When allegations involve something as serious as employees allegedly tampering with customers' food because of their race, people are going to want more than statements saying it didn't happen. They want to know what was investigated, whether the alleged group actually existed, who operated it, and how this entire story became so widespread in the first place. Texas Roadhouse has denied the allegations. The viral claims have not been independently proven. Until credible evidence establishes exactly what happened, that's where the facts stand.
