@sarahm.specials67: 1. stopped saying "say ball. say BALL. come on, say it." he doesn't need a drill sergeant, he needs a model. 2. stopped counting his words. once i quit ticking them off in my head like a scoreboard, the pressure came out of the room. 3. stopped handing him youtube during my coffee break. switched to speech blubs where he copies the kids on screen instead of just watching them. same 15 minutes for me, completely different 15 minutes for him. 4. stopped correcting. "ba" for ball got celebrated the same as "ball." the second i started fixing, he stopped trying. 5. stopped comparing him to the toddler at the playground who narrates his whole existence. that kid isn't the finish line. mine isn't the loser. neither of them signed up for this race. #latetalker #speechblubs #speechdelay #toddlermom #toddlerlife
