@nancybadillo13: I told myself I wasn’t going to cry on the internet again. And here I am. This is me opening the email with my annual bloodwork. That’s my real reaction. I didn’t plan to film it and I almost didn’t post it. My A1C came back 4.8. Week 13. 200 pounds. Started at 228 on June 1. I’ve carried type 2 diabetes for years. Every single morning I checked my blood sugar bracing for a bad number. Every morning. That was just my life. And then a number on a screen told me it’s gone. I don’t know how to explain what that does to you when you’ve spent 20 years failing at this. Because I did fail. Over and over. My record for quitting was 9 days. I used to think that was a discipline problem. That everybody else wanted it more than I did. Now I understand something different. My brain was wired to sugar and fat, and I was sitting there trying to out-willpower my own wiring. For me, that was never going to work. No amount of trying harder was going to fix a brain that would not stop thinking about food. That’s what I want you to hear. If you’ve been fighting food noise for years and calling yourself weak for it, I don’t think you’re weak. I think you’ve been fighting something you couldn’t see. I was so ashamed at the beginning of this. I didn’t want to need medicine. I wanted to prove I could do it on my own. At some point pride becomes the enemy of progress. I chose progress. If you’re where I was, I’m not telling you what to do. I’m telling you what happened to me, and that a GLP-1 was the thing that finally quieted my brain enough to live my life. It’s worth a conversation with a doctor. Ask the question you’ve been too embarrassed to ask. Thank you @ro.co Truly. This medicine changed my life and I don’t say that lightly. If you’ve struggled with food noise, comment WEEK and tell me where you’re at. Even if it’s messy. Especially if it’s messy. I read every single one. #ZepboundJourney #Type2Diabetes #FoodNoise #GLP1Week13 #GLP1Community@
Great work!! That is worth crying over! A Glp1 is a great tool to get out of diabetic range. But is it no longer covered by insurance because it’s now under 5.7? If so, get a dietician & resistance train 3x’s a week to keep the glucose down. Type 2 is always waiting in the background for the rest of your life. Don’t let it control you! Great job. (Hope your energy level is up as a result too :)
