It’s great that you’re thinking deeply about big topics showing this level of thinking at your age is awesome. The reason adults step in is that, psychologically, intense distress creates a tunnel vision When someone is at their lowest, they usually don't want to end their life they just want the pain to stop. Severe distress temporarily clouds the brain's decision-making centers making it hard to see other solutions. Stepping in with support gives their brain the space to recover so they can stay safe and rebuild. It creates a much stronger, more caring community when we look out for each other. Keep reflecting and exploring big questions like this you have a great mind for it !! 👏👏

But the thing is, when their situation gets too much to handle it feels less like a choice and more like their only way out. But those situations and those emotions they come and they go. If we stop them and if we help them, it gives them a chance to receive help and to get better. It reminds them that it is in fact, not the only way out. They mightve already accepted that they're drowning and stopped trying to swim but all it takes is a glimmer of sunlight breaking through the water to remind them that there's so much more to life that's worth fighting for. We just have to be that light that they can reach out to.

I understand you’re calling this a “rant,” but suicde is far too serious to speak about this casually. Saying we shouldn’t stop someone who wants to de isn’t harmless commentary—someone vulnerable could hear that as validation at the worst moment of their life. Yes, people have autonomy over their own lives, but suic*dal thoughts often happen during intense emotional distress, mental illness, trauma or a crisis that can change with time, treatment and support. That’s exactly WHY we intervene. You’re also incredibly young and still developing emotionally and psychologically. You simply don’t have the life experience or professional knowledge to speak with this much certainty about whether another person should live or d*e. That’s not an insult; some subjects require maturity, responsibility and understanding. It’s also genuinely concerning to hear someone so young speak about d*ath this casually. The adults around you should be paying attention to what you’re posting and having conversations with you about where these thoughts and opinions are coming from, rather than allowing something this serious to be broadcast without guidance. And considering the extraordinary privilege and resources surrounding you, there are realities and struggles you may not yet understand. Privilege doesn’t mean you can’t suffer, but it should make you more careful about giving life-or-d*ath advice online. A platform and an opinion do not equal the maturity or perspective to give advice this serious.

“Sometimes they Know what they’re doing” and we’re talking about $uicide here….. girl… no one in their right mind would commit such things. Sometimes it’s better not to say stupid shit and post it publicly because its not benefiting anyone :/ just because u have an opinion u don’t always have to post it. This is concerning for a child your age to be advocating and encouraging this sorts of perspectives……. Im at loss for words.
