Over forty years ago, when we used to wear the Thobe and Jubba, some members of the Indian and Pakistani community in the masjid would mock us, saying, “Why are you wearing women’s long dresses?”
Oh, how times have changed! 😂
Look at you now the very same garments you once ridiculed are proudly hanging in your wardrobes, and you’re wearing them with great pride.
And here’s the funniest part: the Thobe isn’t even Pakistani or Bengali attire it’s traditionally associated with the Arab world and the Middle East. So what happened to the salwar kameez? 😂
You spent years mocking people for wearing the Thobe, only to eventually adopt the very same garment yourself. Apparently, it wasn’t “women’s clothing” after all it just needed a few decades before you discovered it was fashionable.
How times change. The hypocrisy is almost as long as the Thobe itself. 😂
