I think you did a bang up job. Tarps in the wind are a nightmare. I tried to set one up as a cook shelter in a campsite once. When the wind gusted, the tarp picked up the picnic table we had tied one corner to. The picnic was made of railway sleepers and was silly heavy.

there great had one for 6+ years before it ripped and trust me I used it in gale force winds yes, the guidelines and pegs are shit just get decent ones and like say 5 plus years easy for the year. tarp 👍👍👍
