Any teens/ 20 something’s watching this. It’s about $3000 in yetis. Take that same money and put it in an IRA and by the time you are 62 that would be 50k. And if you added the cost of a yeti $35 every month for that same time it would be worth 149k but you only would have put in 20k. That means your yeti money would have made 129k. Or you can have hundreds/thousands of yetis. OR other 35 dollar stuff. Parents- same thing- give your kids 2-3 yetis, but if you have 35 a month — a retirement fund would be an amazing gift for your kids. The younger you start it the more they will have!!! A 14 year old with a part time job can contribute. 3000 at 14 becomes 77k at 62. With no additional contributions. That’s 17.80 a month you would save to have a 3000 starter fund when they are 14.
