I don’t know, man, I think people are quick to make Barry Bonds a villain for a lot of reasons, but most notably because he was a black dude who refused to compromise who he was, and how he felt for people who were in the end, just trying to use him. Like, let’s say that we believe this guy and yeah, he was bending over backwards, helping bonds with all these requests, or whatever; it probably was a few or something, and Bonds turned around abd did all that, and the photog felt a way about it. If that photographer was only doing those things so that he could get a favor from Bonds down the line, I don’t really think much of him either. It doesn’t matter if the favor was for noble cause, he still was just doing shit so that Barry would pay him back for it later. That’s not really doing someone a solid, that’s doing something so that you can be in proximity to fame and for a favor down the line. I don’t like people who operate that way, and I’m pretty sure that’s the way Bonds saw it. Its a shame about what happened to those groundskeepers, but Barry did not do it, and he doesn’t owe people help for no reason if he doesn’t want to, that doesn’t make him a bad person. It just makes him somebody who was upset in the moment about something or other and behaved like a human. Demonizing him seems to be the reflexive answer that a lot of people in the white media try to do right away when a story about bonds comes out or whatever happens.
