@realwildernessbaby: her worst betrayal because she put everything on the line to save Amma only to realize she was keeping a secret that would damage her even further was just devastating !! #sharpobjects #camillepreaker #ammacrellin #crime #donttellmama

amma was genuinely so scary in the book, and the fact she had other little girls on board too…

Everyone talks about how much worse Amma was in the books, and yes she was terrible, but ADORA?!? OMG 😳😳

The book was good but the only thing that weirded me out was how she described her 13 year old sister’s naked body like that part was totally unnecessary

I percive it as such that many viewers of Sharp Objects (especially here on tiktok) downplay Amma’s actions by calling her “our tooth fairy” + other things as her tendency to extreme violence is supposed to be a quirky trait, because it totally removes her complexity as a character. Her actions are a result of longterm abuse from Adora, however they are also a result of her personal traits (but the question if all of her personality is a result of Adora’s abuse, can also be posed). The “Tooth fairy” comments remove Amma from morale and responsibility - but at the same time one can not always expect victims of abuse to have proportional reactions. The quote from the book “A child weaned on poison considers harm a comfort” summarizes this perfectly.

Amma was actually more blatant with her cruelty in the book. She physically attacks one of her friends in public because she felt too guilty about her involvement in Natalie’s death. She was actually planning on killing her before adora was arrested because she was scared she would snitch.

Is it an extended version of the book? My book finished with Camille finding out it’s Amma already in the end but I don’t have the part where she has a mental breakdown and a couple saved her?

Doesn’t adora also say in the book that she’ll mark Camille on her back where she could never reach? Makes this relapse even more sad (I haven’t watched the whole show yet so idk if it happens in it)

I’ve never seen this movie and everyone keeps talking about the book. What’s the title of the book? I desperately want to read it now. 🖤

I don't get the hype with the book or movie. I read it and figured out the ending by the second chapter, so I didn't feel the need to watch the movie.

I bought this book when I was deep in my self harm stage of life. I sobbed so hard throughout it and it became one of my favorite books. It’s haunting.
