For us Somali people our backbone and greatest strength is how we help each other Even if you are poor the Somali community can come together to help someone in need even strangers There are many Somalis who pay the bills of poor people every month So what would you expect when it comes to family There is also something powerful in our culture every clan has its own support system. If something happens to one person and they need a large amount of money, the whole clan comes together and contributes to help them That sense of community and solidarity is one of the strongest parts of our culture Right now, my clan is planning to build a big hospital and a university back home. The funding will come from every member of the clan everyone contributes according to what they can afford Some people are paying $10,000 while others are contributing $100 Everyone is expected to contribute at their own level some are gonna bring a container of health care equipment
