OP did do an update. It was the brothers idea. Brother said he thought op was Lily's actual father, said he thought op and Lily's mom were together and just weren't telling people. When she got pregnant, mama was just gonna tell everyone Lily was her husband's and op would go along with it because he didn't want kids. SIL was under the impression OP believed he was Lily's actual dad when he adopted her. OPs brother had been lieing to SIL for two years...

I know this isn’t the point but I LOVE that the sister & law didn’t know after over 2 years of knowing OP & his daughter. Because it means no one in the family refers to her as being adopted. They just call her his daughter

ive seen this story before, it turned out it was his brother that wanted the dna test done because he couldn't understand why his brother would adopt a kid that wasn't his (he assumed he was sleeping with lilly and they had the baby behind her husband's back) the brothers wife was absolutely mortified and very apologetic, his brother was the villain the whole time

Only a very cruel person would go out of their way to try and prove an affair after someone dies. What if OP had been in love with bio-mom and also believed the child was his? OP needs to keep his daughter far away from those hateful people. They sought to harm OP and niece just to be evil.

I found an update- OP’s brother thought that the OP had been sleeping with the mother and believed the girl to be his. He thought the OP was lying to the entire family about not being the biological father. The brother told his fiancé that OP believed the child to be his and he was worried it wasnt true. He asked her to do the test telling her they needed to help his brother find out the truth. She has some childhood trauma around affairs, so when she got the results she reacted badly and thought she was helping him by telling him the truth. She feels terrible and everyone has stopped speaking to the brother.
