@saltsugarandstories: It’s been a hard morning. I grew up in the brokenness of not really having a family, so I never had some beautiful picture in my head of what family was supposed to look like. But there are people I love who did. And sometimes one of the hardest things in life is watching someone discover that the people they thought would always love them can also be the people who hurt them deeply. And y’all… I wanted to tell a STORY this morning. 😂 I had it too. Every word. But the Lord said, “Rein it in, sister.” So instead of choosing violence today 😂, I picked up my devotional and decided to see what God might have for me. I opened it. “LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST.” Are you kidding me? Exactly what I needed. Exactly when I needed it. Sometimes we ask where God is. Sometimes we wonder if He really hears us or if He really speaks into the ordinary moments of our lives. He does. Today I needed Him to stop me before my hurt and anger spoke for me. And He did. The story can stay untold. God knows it anyway. I’m leaving yesterday where it belongs and trusting Him with what I cannot fix. God is good.
