Isn’t it exactly the opposite? I mean incorrect thinking about God or faith is morally more impure as any other sin. Yes those matter should be handled by bishops and clergy not by us layman. And the thing is, we don’t need to really put attention on it since it was solved by our fathers long time ago.

my priest actually knows 2 old ladies that used to go to our church, but moved closer to their family a few states over. the only church near them is a Russian orthodox church, and so they've been going there for a long while without even knowing there's a difference. the people at that church know, but aren't bothered by it in the slightest and they now bake for them and such.
