A Quick guide to Re-Waterproofing jackets ⬇️ 1️⃣ Get some Waterproof jacket cleaner, the job of this is remove all the dirt and grime out of the membrane and keep the Jacket fresh 2️⃣ Get some Re waterproofer, this can come in a spray or a liquid and is DWR which stands for durable water repellent the most important aspect of your jacket, this is what creates the beading and needs replacing pretty often 3️⃣ you can either use your washing machine just make sure you clean out the detergent tray completely, or just do what I do the lazy option and do it in a sink, prime with warm water 4️⃣ add 150 mil of cleaner (approx) and work your waterproof jacket making sure it’s fully submerged, leave it for a few minutes 5️⃣ rinse out the cleaner with cold water, several times until all the cleaner is gone 6️⃣ Refill the sink with warm water and add the re-waterproofer (Wash in DWR) around 150ml for 7L 7️⃣ leave for a minimum of five minutes and let the re-waterproofer do its job 8️⃣ rinse thoroughly and allowed to dry, 9️⃣ leave the jacket in a warm environment like a greenhouse so the DWR activates (or just tumble / hair dryer it) 🔟 head out to Lake District in your freshly cleaned and re-waterproof drip only to get soaked again 🤣 I prefer reward proofing my jackets in a sink as there is no trace detergent from the washing machine but you can do it in the washing machine, Just put on a delicate wash 🧼 I use @nikwax but any work £10er ish Nylon is just from eBay £3 for 10 sheets Save for later 💾 #camping #Hiking #gortex #waterproof #arcteryx #jacketrepair
