@micah.tech: When I finally get my own place, I’m getting this first model! But I hope by that time, more options will pop up in the market! #alternative #privacy #flock #tv #monitor
I changed the password and entered the wrong one on the TV so now it cannot connect to the WiFi. And also turned the WiFi setting off the TV

I'll never give a TV access to my wifi. hook a PC to the tv, and have a cordless keyboard and mouse on the coffee table. Microsoft wants your data too. but there are ways to stop your PC from talking to Microsoft.

Streaming devices like nvidia shield or Apple TV will always be the better option that web os. Plus there’s no ads on Apple TV

Got Scepter’s 4k… 50”? A year and a half ago for $200. So far so good. Only bigger/better ones I could find at the time were “industrial”, so they were super expensive despite being far less stuff on them.

I never set up my tv's wifi, I have a Roku instead. How does my tv know there's an update when it's not connected to the internet directly?

I still use my 10 years old (smart) Panasonic plasma 46” TV. It is “only” a 1080P, but fantastic picture quality for the time. It is NOT connected to the internet, I use a appletv/chromecast for internet connection.

I was gifted a ROKU TV and that thing literally turns itself on whenever it wants despite me turning it off. I wake up every single morning with it turned back on or whenever it sense movement in the house. 👀

Or just buy a TV, don’t connect it to a LAN or wifi and there is no issue. Then use a provider stb or a secure mediaplayer.

Are there custom operating systems for smart TVs? I don't want to buy a new one. I'm poor.

sceptre doesn't make that size anymore I literally called the company after my old one died. I believe you can still buy the 50" on Amazon. Samsung supposedly has a 75" $700 dumb tv
