@pitochk: It’s strange when you really think about it. The same place around you can transform completely several times a year. Green turns to gold, leaves disappear, snow covers the ground, and a few months later everything starts growing again. Temperature, daylight, plants, animals, even the way the air feels, all of it changes. But seasons are not the same everywhere. While it’s winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Near the equator, the familiar cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter can almost disappear, replaced by wet and dry seasons. And Earth didn’t always look or behave exactly like it does today. Its climate has changed enormously throughout its history, reshaping how strongly different regions experience the seasons. We live on a tilted planet orbiting a star, and that simple geometry is enough to periodically transform entire landscapes. #Seasons #Earth #Nature #edit#Climate
