As a mechanic, I've done it a bunch and it does not destroy the transmission. It helps it. Anytime that you have clutch material in the fluid, the fluid gets heavier harder to pump around. You make it lighter, it's easier on the pump and it cleans all that material out of there.\n What destroys the transmission is when you use multi fit Fluid and not specific type of fluid that is designed just for that transmission.

That’s a CVT, different than a traditional automatic transmission. You don’t have clutch packs 🤦🏼♂️

First off the only type of flush you wanna do is with a machine like the BG where it does not have any power behind it. It is your own transmission pump that is circulating the fluid throughout the transmission all the way up to the cooling radiator you’re connecting to those lines so whatever comes out is the same amount of fresh fluid that comes in behind it returning to the transmission there is no power flushing

So if you miss an oil change just stop changing the oil altogether!

The older transmissions are fine to flush it. It’s the newer stuff.

I have a Silverado with a 6l80. I had terrible fluid and shuddering. I dropped the pan, cleaned everything up and have now done 3 drain and fills. It has dreamaticlally improved the shifting…it still does not feel 100% heathy but It will likely get me a few years out of it

my GM car had 140k mile nasty black transmission fluid- obviously never serviced as it was also shifting and occasionally slipping. I flushed with new transmission oil twice and all issues went away- shifts perfectly.
