@my.four.wheels: 🚗 Looking for a driving test? The DVSA has just updated its advice and it could save you a lot of time and frustration. If you’re trying to book an earlier driving test, there are a few important things you need to know. ❌ Don’t assume 6am on a Monday is the best time to look for cancellations. That advice only applies if you’re trying to book new test appointments released 24 weeks in advance. If you’re looking for an earlier appointment or a cancellation, they can appear at any time during the week when: • Another learner cancels. • Another learner changes their test. • The DVSA adds extra examiner availability. (GOV.UK) The DVSA also advises: ⚠️ Don’t repeatedly refresh the booking service over a short period. ⚠️ Don’t use multiple devices to search at the same time. Doing so could trigger the system’s security measures, leading to temporary search restrictions or error messages. Activity that appears to be abnormal or breaches the booking terms can result in your online booking access being suspended. (GOV.UK) So what’s the best strategy? ✅ Keep checking the official DVSA booking service regularly. ✅ Be patient. ✅ Don’t assume there’s one “magic” time when cancellations appear. ✅ If you’re only looking for an earlier test, there’s no advantage in joining the Monday 6am queue for new appointments. (GOV.UK) The booking system is already under a lot of pressure, so knowing how it actually works can give you a much better chance of finding a test without making things harder for yourself. #drivingtest #drivingtestbooking #dvsa #learnerdriver #drivingtesttips
I initially booked my test for January, I was refreshing so much I got blocked, I checked few hours later, I was unblocked and booked a closer date for next month.

So, how often can I check if I want to find an early test date? Can I refresh every 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or more often? Also, how long can I keep checking in one day?

The DVSA are trying to get driving test wait times down and to unclog their busy systems. They are building a new online system and have just clarified some important points to help learners navigate this difficult process - fingers crossed you get the date you want - good luck 🍀🚘🍀

It's based upon ip address and / or volume of bookings . So at home from the same wi-fi there is no way of detecting if its your self or parents etc that is ''managing the test "
Multiple devices would flag up , but mobile ip address does change with location and if the phone has been restarted.

I finally saw a test that was suitable for me and as soon as I went to book, I got Error 15. Now, whenever I try to access the bookings page from any of my devices, I get the same error. Think I'm banned :(

It’s an absolute joke that young people cannot book a test unless it’s 24 weeks ahead and when they do try and get an earlier test they get blocked.
