It is easy now because of technology. In the 70s only people have TV and it was all local channels. That’s means, you didn’t know what was available for sale in China or other countries. Only the rich had phones, so you could not call to order stuff, therefore, it was hard to buy and sell. Bank were not offering loans to poor people to buy vehicle. It was hard to even own a taxi. There was no internet to see what types of products and equipment was available. To make it worse, most people didn’t have access to travel.
