@doctordes.org: Everything the movies taught you about nosebleeds is backwards. 🩸 Head back? Exactly wrong — it sends blood down your throat, upsets your stomach, and hides how much you're losing. The NHS version: lean FORWARD, mouth open, and pinch the soft part just above the nostrils for 10–15 minutes. No peeking — releasing early restarts the clot. Then 24 hours of hands off: no blowing, no picking, no hot drinks, no heavy lifting, no lying flat. When it's more: bleeding past 15 minutes, after a head injury, or with dizziness = ER. Under-2s, frequent bleeds, or anyone on blood thinners = book the doctor. Source: NHS nosebleed guidance. Not medical advice. #FirstAid #Nosebleed #HealthMyths #MythBusting #ParentingTips
