I would recommend mounting the thermostat directly on the MOSFET heat sink, preferably at a point with good thermal coupling to the MOSFETs. This is where the temperature is more likely to reach the thermostat’s 50°C activation threshold under high load. Mounting it on the ferrite transformer may not be as effective, since the transformer may not reach 50°C during normal operation, meaning the thermostat may not activate when required. Proper thermal contact is also important to ensure that the thermostat responds accurately to the actual temperature of the power stage. Well done, sir.
