Yesterday my mom asked me about a gift, I made for her awhile ago. It was a glass with shells inside with a note, that was supposed to cheer her up when she wasn’t doing well. But one note did the opposite, because I had written on it that one day I’m going to give her back everything that she sacrificed for me. I don’t remember, my exact thought process I had when I wrote it. But I know it was something my younger self shouldn’t be thinking about. And in the moment, my mom told me what I had written, my mind went back to that time in my life. And my eyes got teary because I realized how bad it got. Not specifically because of that note but in general. That note was just a small reminder, nothing that would make people think too hard about how I was doing. But I know, I remember.
