This happened in my home town. There were multiple witnesses who saw the kidnapping and tried to follow them. Sh was parked farther away than the witnesses, which gave the kidnapper just enough time to lose the people who tried to stop him. Anne was incredibly smart throughout the horrific ordeal. She found ways to leave clues from Nebraska to Montana, like writing "Anne Sluti was here" in bathroom stalls. She pretend to empathize with her kidnapper so he would let his guard down and trust her. Which allowed her to help negotiate her release between her kidnapper and law enforcement.

I grew up around the corner from Anne, her parents were so nice and always bought Girl Scout cookies from me every year. This whole thing was insane, our block was FULL of news vans constantly and we weren’t allowed to ride our bikes around anymore without a parent being there. She was so brave, honestly I couldn’t imagine being in that situation, it was so scary.
