@meghannmcuniff: One of the strangest aspects of the police investigation into Tupac Shakur's murder is Duane "Keffe D" Davis' proffer with Los Angeles law enforcement that Las Vegas detectives attended not knowing it was a proffer. Dan Long, a retired detective with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, testified today about his investigation that began in 2004, and his lack of knowledge that Davis' interview in LA was a protected proffer and not a free-wheeling confession. Long testified on Thursday (August 27, day 22) as a defense witness. He was the final trial witness. Attorneys are to give closing arguments on Monday (August 31). Long said Davis was "looking at the rest of his life in prison for what they had caught him with." "So, if he gives substantial information about cases, and that's what they had brought him in for, was to give information about cases. One of the cases was the Wallace case, Notorious B.I.G. During this part of it, he started telling them about Tupac," Long testified. Long said he planned "to drive back to Las Vegas, type up a warrant for an arrest, clear it with the district attorney and have Mr. Davis arrested for murder." But prosecutors listened to the recorded interview and heard what was discussed when Long left the room. They realized Davis was talking as a protected proffer in which his statements couldn't be used against him but could be used to further investigate. "So we brought the recording and the transcription over. The DA reviewed it. They invited me over, and they told me that they were not going to go forward with prosecution at that time," Long said. "Were you directed to find out the circumstances of why it was that a suspect in our homicide was in a room with his lawyer and a task force officer having that conversation?" asked Marc DiGiacomo, the chief deputy district attorney in Clark County, Nevada. "Yes," Long said. #law #crime #police

They say that before Tupac drove up to the traffic light, two bicycle police officers stopped—why is there no report about that here?

So they trying to make it seem like they had PC since 09 and didn’t arrest due to the proffer.. yet allowed him to speak publicly for well over 10 years and didn’t arrest him until 3 years ago. Tupac needs justice but I’m trying to understand the motivation for the prosecution and why now?
