@rimek211: Yugoslavia was born in 1918 to unite the South Slavs. First a kingdom, after WWII Tito’s federation — communist, but outside the USSR and relatively well-off for years. Tito held it all together. After he died in 1980 the country started to crack. Nationalism + economic crisis = the wars of the 1990s and a breakup into separate states.
