This is a terrible comparison. You are putting leggings against a pair of sweatpants. Like obviously a pear of sweatpants that are thick and meant to be worn in cold seasons are going to be thicker. I am in high school and one of my freinds in our group asked “why do you wear leggings”, one of my freinds said “it’s easy to run in, comfortable and had more mobility than sweatpants.” So from a neural standpoint yoing kids do tend to have a bunch of energy and like to run and play so a material that is thin and flexible would be better.

Its so annoying that the only non-denim, non-leggings girl options are thick sweatpants. I live in California, why cant they make like normal soft pants that arent sticking to skin?!!

The only place I can find appropriate clothes for my daughter is on SHEIN the shops here where I stay just have a booty shorts and tight tights and very mini miniskirts

I work as a prek teacher and I always feel so bad for the babies that come in wearing these leggings because the other kids can tell when they have a full diaper and they’re just kids so they point it out :(

I was one of those kids who always wore leggings because I had a texture issue with jeans and I remember they were always too tight around areas like my butt but they were more comfortable than the jeans so I never complained and would even get more since the options in stores were always either leggings or something with a Jean texture. everyday I would have markings on my body from the leggings digging into me and I really hope some kid doesn't have to also go through it

This is why when my girl still gets joggers from the boys section I don’t care she’s 6 now I’ve done this since she’s been little as I’ve noticed this too it’s sick 🤢 and the shorts are also super tight again I buy from the boys section for her

No, I totally agree. I shopped for boy shorts and boy joggers for my daughter because the girl section is just honestly crazy. The shorts are so short. She’s one years old she does not need to be wearing shorts above her knee in my opinion. Or at least have some options over then knee you know, but know but no all the boys shorts were the only ones that were over the knee. Also, with the leggings, my daughter has to wear two t and they still don’t fit her mind you she’s like the average weight of a one year-old and then I upped the size to maybe get it a little bit less tight and it’s just longer still tight

These leggings are like tights and are meant to be worn under a dress. Shorts can be worn over them for better coverage. I get the older child sizes for myself. As long as they're mostly cotton, they're very comfortable.

I hate trying to find pants for my daughter. She’s not even 2 and wears like 3/4t sometimes in leggings/biker shorts under dresses. I can’t imagine her wearing those items when she is 4. They’d be so short on her then. I think I’m guna have to buy and hem full length leggings or just have her wear regular shorts under dresses when she gets that age. Luckily my mom sews a lot for our kids so she can have shorts that are cute and pink etc and not too short too.

when leggings first came out as a thing. leggings was post to be put under skirts and shorts. but ofc over time women started wearing them as normal pants alone. Even if there see through and super thin. So ofc trends happens so it becomes a known fashion. It keeps salein. Just something shouldn't be made for children period. I always thought it crazy people actually wears them as pants still.
