I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. This is not the same country as 20 years ago. Youth drowning in debt. No jobs. No opportunity. A government that sends tax dollars to other countries instead of investing it back in the country. I’m too old to relocate now but I wish I could go back and leave Canada. I love my country but it is not my country anymore.

Yeah, the drug and homelessness problem is real, but to be fair, the homicide rate in Quito, Ecuador is roughly 5 times higher than in Toronto, Canada. Also In Canada, people who can’t afford housing may end up homeless, in shelters, or in overcrowded housing. In many developing countries, people are more likely to end up in slums. Canada generally doesn’t have large-scale slums.
