Sorry if this is unsolicited advice, but as someone who has had this happen at a Lowes. The best thing I can suggest is just saying ‘Hey, I appreciate it, but I’d prefer to do it alone.’ But sometimes well, people are people and when they think they’re helping they aren’t, even when you tell them not. So I totally understand you not saying anything. My mom raised me to have a big ol’ backbone though so I can be pretty stern despite being a very unintimidating person. It’s really hard for people to understand the whole ‘thanks, no thanks’ response.
