LOL, I need paper towels. I have a dog, I use them to clean up after her. I hate dish cloths and sponges, I use one paper towel and wipe out my dishes before they go into the dishwasher. Since Covid, I keep them in my bathroom, when I go to someone else’s house, I don’t want to use a community hand towel. I keep them in my car along with wet wipes to keep my car looking good. I spend maybe $10.00 a month on paper towels. So much cheaper than a daily Starbucks, habit. I pick what I feel is necessary. But, I am single, so no one to argue with!

We did to begin with, then we figured out I'm the saver and he's the spender. He handed everything over to me 20 years ago to prove me wrong and never wanted it back. We are almost completely out of debt and on schedule to pay our house off early 😁

I get extremely tight at times and my husband will ask are we in trouble. I just have moments I refuse to spend ANY money. I think we both flashback to 2008. That crash affected us deeply. We were living way too comfortable. I was back in school & so close to completing my teaching degree when construction and housing stopped. I recall sitting my 20 & 15 yr old down & saying spending was changing drastically. Even telling our son he might have to help with bills. My daughter full on panicked asking would she be able to attend college. That was our wake-up call. My husband’s salary was cut in 1/2 & I was a para-pro barely making above minimum wage. We buckled down scaled EVERYTHING back. Interestingly enough his work was slow so he had ample time for handyman side jobs. We actually started seeing more come in & less going out. I swore then Money & our jobs would never own us again. I often say we have been poor before and I can do poor but I cannot do broke. Huge difference in my mind. Poor we cut back & make it work. Broke we are not sure how we are paying the power bill. Money peace is a wonderful way to live.

🤣 you gotta pick your battles. My husband loves all the underconsumption practices I’ve implemented but I do know not to ask him to give up paper towels, and his favorite washing powder. I did win the argument for dryer balls.
