Next question in the adoption series: “What was the hardest part of adoption?” 💌 The paperwork. 🥲 And I want to clarify what I mean by that because our adoption agency really did a phenomenal job of making sure we were guided through every step of the way. Even when there was a lot to gather or complete, I always felt like we had the support we needed to do it. But the paperwork was probably one of the areas where I had to surrender and trust Jesus the most throughout our adoption process. I think something about having to entrust something so precious into human hands was very, very difficult for me at times, especially when there were delays or mishaps. It was a space that ultimately came down to one question: How much did I trust Jesus? Because deep down, there was a lie I was believing that the timing and outcome of this adoption ultimately rested in the hands of people. But the truth was that it rested in His. And one thing He would always bring me back to in those moments was one of the first things He ever spoke to me when we started this process: the day we were to bring our daughter home was already set, and nothing would change that. No delay.
No paperwork mistake.
No red tape.
Nothing. So, in some of the most challenging moments of our adoption, this was the truth and promise that anchored me. The paperwork may have been the hardest part for me, but it also became one of the places where I learned to trust Jesus the most. 🕊️ 🤍🤍🤍 #adoption #brasil #adoptionjourney #relatable #momlife
