I'm Inuit but always was pushed away from native arts because I'm the first generation that looks white. No one ever wanted me around because the assumption was that I wasn't family. I competed in mushing, hiking, survival skills, etc but never was accepted despite being the only one left practicing the skills passed down in our family. I want to try again as an adult to reconnect. I'm the last generation of my family.
