I love dark chocolate. In fact, milk chocolate is too sweet for me. And if you have a really high-quality dark chocolate, it’s not that bitter. I agree with a couple of other commenters on here that it is just accepted that people don’t like dark chocolate and people are performative about how much they don’t like dark chocolate when I guarantee you they’ve had dark chocolate items in the past that they didn’t realize we’re dark chocolate items and they like them.

bitterness is not overruled by other flavour notes lol. if i want a treat i want it to be sweet and mild, not overwhelming and bitter. people also dislike black liquorice.

I think with a lot of things, it becomes performative to dislike it to an extent. Like bugs, or country music, or dark chocolate. It's the popular thing to dislike, so if you make a big show of how awful it is, then you'll get all the attention points you want.

I love dark chocolate, but I find people are unprepared for how ~fruity~ it can be. Because their brain is looking for milk chocolate flavors, the dissonance of what they're expecting vs actually tasting throws them off. It's like expecting to taste hot tomato soup when its really borscht 🤣

I enjoy high quality dark chocolate because I can taste the fruity notes. low quality dark chocolate is bitter and largely tasteless

I'm not a fan of dark chocolate for the same reason I'm not a fan of black coffee- I understand it has various flavor notes but to me the bitterness overrides most of it. I prefer milk in both coffee and chocolate as it mellows it :3

Milk chocolate has a smooth sweet creamy texture when it melts in your mouth and on the tongue , Dark chocolate doesn’t give you that.

I looooooove dark chocolate. Your chocolate convinced me I still also like milk chocolate. Your chocolate is so balanced and not over sweet. It's sooooo flavourful!

We love dark chocolate! But we limit our intake because of the lead. If we ate it as much as we did milk...we would have a bad time! And my partner has an autoimmune disease so it's on "the list" for us sadly. For us it's just risk mitigation...but it makes it more special when we do have it! 🤗

The issue with dark chocolate is you need quality dark chocolate to be good. Cheap dark chocolate tastes like ashes. You can get away with cheap milk and white chocolate with a good filling or as a drink
