@iltv_israel: According to a report by The New York Times, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is facing growing pressure over plans to honor designer John Galliano with a nine-month exhibition, more than a decade after he was convicted in France over antisemitic outbursts. Jewish leaders, donors and prominent figures have urged the Met to reconsider, with some donors threatening to withdraw gifts, the report says. The controversy has intensified because the 2027 Met Gala, which is set to launch the exhibition, is currently scheduled for the same day as Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Met is reportedly considering moving the gala by a week. Galliano was fired from Dior in 2011 after a video surfaced in which he declared “I love Hitler” and made remarks about people being “gassed.” He later apologized and sought to learn about Judaism, antisemitism and the Holocaust. The Met says it has “no tolerance for antisemitism” and is consulting Jewish leaders as it develops plans for the exhibition and gala. 🎥 @The Sun
