@ashleystriblet: It’s not logical for people to go through “pain” without any clear idea of “gain”. One of my main hypotheses is that because a lot of everyday people aren’t seeing AI as personally life-changing tool (they way an engineer or small business owner, etc maybe is), the more they don’t feel the significant disruption to our society is worth it (on top of not trusting the people in charge). But unfortunately the money is being made building agentic AI for coding/enterprise so that’s where most the “gain” has gone so far. And some people feel even if AI delivers medical breakthroughs (like Anthropic is promising), they themselves won’t benefit from it. So people need to see clear benefits in hand ASAP. So I think path forward at least has to 1) make the “gain” more clear for everyday people 2) introduce more regulation that makes the change less painful. #ai #futureofai #techtok #chatgpt
They act like a majority of the population even has the time to learn what is needed to fully understand these warnings in the first place 🤦♀️

The irony of AI is that it manages to allow the layman to do amazing things that are mostly useless unless actual time is taken to develop a rigorous process. Yes, it can create a cool video but can it maintain character & voice consistency across enough scenes to make a coherent story? The answer is, not exactly. It can do it, but a layman will see the initial shot that too seconds to make and then become frustrated that AI can’t simply… continue with it.
