@eastonuniversity: How do you get candidates to respond to recruiters? Stop leading with: “I have a great job opportunity for you.” That's what everybody else is doing. And the rock-star candidate you actually want? They're probably busy succeeding in the job they already have. Instead, lead with an insight. Something relevant to their exact profession. For example: “There's something every sales engineer is dealing with right now that nobody is talking about.” Now give them something legitimate to think about. Then ask questions. What are they earning? Where do they want to be? What frustrates them? What would make another opportunity worth considering? Only THEN introduce the position. Don't lead with the opportunity.
