@takeitupwithhr: Gary, Indiana was devastated by a massive storm, leaving thousands of people without power for nearly TWO WEEKS. Families were left dealing with extreme heat, spoiled food, limited resources, and a city struggling to get back on its feet. And while the crisis was unfolding, I couldn’t help but notice something. The people who are ALWAYS the loudest when it comes to saying “Black Lives Matter” suddenly got real fucking quiet when Black people in Gary actually needed help. Because apparently Black lives matter when there’s a hashtag, a protest, a camera, a red carpet, or an opportunity to virtue signal. But when Black folks are sitting in the dark, sweating, hungry, and asking for actual assistance? Crickets. That’s the contradiction I have a problem with. And before somebody starts typing, “Celebrities aren’t obligated to help”, you’re absolutely right. They’re not. But don’t spend years building your public identity around fighting for Black communities, racial justice, and marginalized people, then act like Gary doesn’t exist when the cameras aren’t there. That’s the hypocrisy. So let me give credit where credit is actually fucking due. @Keith Lee showed up 🫡 And shout out to Tyrese Haliburton for matching Keith’s $15,000 contribution and showing up as well.
