this is the first time I've seen anyone else talk about this. 18-19 is an infamt adult, 20-21 is a toddler adult, 22-24 is a kid adult, 25-26 is a teen adult, 27-28 is a young adult, and 29-30 is when you start to really feel like an adult.

adulthood starts at 25, when the frontal lobe is developed. so 28 is maybe a 10yo adult in legality, but in maturity a 10yo adult is 35

I like to think adulthood starts at 20, after your last teen years. So at 20, you’re only a zero-year-old adult. 21 you’re a 1-yr-old, etc. My 20s made soooo much more sense this way! I want messing everything up, I was just an adult-kid!😄 I was doing my best. And you are too!💕💕💕

This resonates deeply. I’ve only been in the real world for 10 years and I still feel like I have no clue whats happening. But I finally believe I can create the life I desire even if I struggle until it clicks 🩵✨

When I was eighteen I was being awkward in public and my mom was like “that’s my 18 year old we’re still working on her” and I very loudly said “yeah I’m just a baby adult. Still figuring this crap out” and that lady laughed so hard I can only assume it was the highlight of her day

If you guys think a fellow adult has it all together, they’re just really good at hiding it because adulthood is almost like sailing a ship through a storm where you don’t know what’s gonna happen so you just hope for the best and try your hardest

Guys let’s stop infantilizing our 20s yes be patient but if you don’t like you life you are old enough but you also have the power to change it. It’s ok to not like your life change it lol.

As an almost 40 year old…you won’t start feeling like an actual REAL adult until your are about 35-37…that’s when you really start to feel like you have a better grasp of what your purpose in the world is starting to look like! Spend your 20s out making experiences!

this helps a lot 😭 I like to say it starts at 20 because 18 and 19 are still teenagers. so I'm only 2 years old. I wouldn't expect a toddler to have everything figured out, so why do I expect myself to. your toddler years you are still learning how to walk and talk and do things on your own. it's no different

Bro adulting isn’t that hard🤣 im 23 with a wife and kid, and I live in my own home. Just do a trade, join the military, or any other government/ civil service job. you’ll make good money have most holidays off, and while you’re working you can get ur degree in whatever job you actually want a career in.

Nick says be.more.empathetic :
You’re 20’s are ABSOLUTELY a time to try new things, fail often, and fail hard. And people should do it fearlessly, joyfully, and laughing all the way, laughing at themselves, laughing at everyone else, laughing at the state of the world. Learning comes AFTER you do things, not before. And sometimes real PASSION and MOTIVATION only come afterwards, too. In other words, there is absolutely nothing wrong with preparing in advance, . . . but Preparation is overrated. Jump in.
