@nolan.labuda: 1. My lower back pain disappeared. Dead hangs became a simple way to unload my spine and relax after training. They didn’t “fix” an injury, but consistently hanging helped me feel less tight and compressed. 2. My shoulder mobility drastically improved. Holding an overhead position for time gave my shoulders regular exposure to a range of motion I wasn’t getting enough of. Reaching overhead started feeling much easier and more natural. 3. My grip got noticeably stronger. Your hands and forearms have to support your entire bodyweight. As I increased my hang time, my grip endurance improved and my forearms became noticeably stronger. 4. People started noticing my posture. Spending more time comfortable in an overhead position helped me become more aware of how I was holding my shoulders. I started carrying myself differently throughout the day. 5. My pull-up strength went through the roof. A stronger grip and getting comfortable controlling my bodyweight from a dead hang transferred directly into my pull-ups. The bottom position stopped feeling like the hardest part of the rep. Three months of hanging from a bar changed way more than I expected. Sometimes the simplest exercises are the ones you’re most likely to actually stick with.
