A2L quick run down!  #1 Take the class, even better get certified. #2 New A2L tanks are reverse thread, get an adapter or better yet a hose with reverse threads. #3 It's mildly flammable, (it blew out a lighter during diminimus purging) But still has some safety protocols to follow. #4 There is no propane in this. The molecules are very very different.  #5 Old tanks have rupture disks that blew the entire charge, the new takes have purge valves that burp the pressure and then close back. #6 You can now store the tanks in your horizontal racks as long as the vapor is in contact with the pop off valve.  #7 purge nitrogen before you braze then flow nitrogen while you braze. It has been needed for a long time to prevent oxidation in the system, now it's for your own safety too!!!!!!  #8 Your old gear may work. Check with the manufacturer. Some are back approved some require a switch change or a fan blade change.  #9 After Jan 1 2025 they are no longer able to manufacture NEW 410A SYSTEMS. There is an exception and extension for VRF and Package units.  #10 Equipment over _ pounds of refrigerant will have  an evaporator coil leak sensor. This will bring on the fan to circulate and dilute concentrations of the A2L larger units will have a solinoid valve.  #11 go to ESCO institute for ORG scroll down to  A2L fact check. Then book mark that page.
