@healingyournervoussystem: Grief and Trauma don’t have one right way of being survived. Some people cry openly. Some become quiet. Some stay busy because stopping feels unbearable. Some numb themselves or revert to survival mode. Some need to talk about what happened or what they lost over and over, while others can barely speak about it at all. Sometimes, these responses change moment by moment. There is something deeply unfair about judging how someone survives one of the hardest seasons of their life. If you truly love someone, don’t criticize how they are surviving. Give them room to feel what they feel. Gently encourage them as they find their way back to solid ground, and support them with kind words, thoughtful gestures, patience, and compassion—in their own time. Be kind. You never truly know what someone is carrying.
