Every Mechanical Engineer should know these different types of valves! 1. Globe Valve: Stops/controls fluid flow in pipelines. 2. Ball Valve: Controls gases, liquids, and vapors in piping networks. 3. Check Valve: Allows flow in one direction, prevents reverse movement. 4. Plug Valve: Regulates, opens, or closes fluid flow with a cylindrical/tapered plug. 5. Needle Valve: Offers precise flow regulation with a small port and needle-shaped plunger. 6. Diaphragm Valve: Uses an elastomeric diaphragm to seal and regulate fluid flow. 7. Gate Valve: Opens by lifting a barrier (gate) out of the fluid's path. 8. Butterfly Valve: A quarter-turn mechanism regulating fluid flow in pipelines. 9. Pinch Valve: Regulates or stops abrasive, granular, or corrosive materials. 10. Pressure Relief Valve (PRV): Releases stored gas to maintain optimal pressure levels.
