The thing I can’t stand most about burning man is how they want to “stick it to the man” and capitalism, but this WHOLE thing is about capitalism. Burning Man would never happen in a non-capitalist country. People spend thousands on their outfits alone, not to mention the ticket cost, van rental cost, and WASTE this festival produces. It’s a bunch of rich or trust fund people who want to act poor and edgy for a few days, but then go back to their comfortable lives.

I’ve never been to burning man. But I think y’all have lost ur minds by being so taken a back. From what I’ve heard from seasoned burners, it’s a just a man made city. These people aren’t stupid lol. Most of them are artists, engineers, and random odd people that want to build a city with whatever tools they bring. They pay a crap ton of money, for the cleaning crews, the port-a potties, the big electric panels, showers, then do whatever in the dessert. They also have income assistance tickets, which most of the festivals y’all are comparing this to don’t. I’m an engineer btw, this sh*t costs MONEY. It is so expensive to build robots let alone all of these structures, these people spend months fundraising and working for this event to take place. They obviously aren’t very friendly to corporations because that’s the shtick. I will agree some of the people look insufferable, but I think that’s the worst of it… I do think it’s a dangerous place you need to realize that before going. People on drugs, some sexually explicit. It’s an awful combination. I firmly believe these experiences should be sober and accompanied ones as a woman. But sadly grape happens even at churches and schools. They should have an overdose, su!c!de, threat, and rape line. Cops on call. The waste… y’all art is wasteful. I don’t think many of these people are cutting down their own trees and processing them, to burn them. They’re bought. I don’t hear any take back on fresh Christmas trees or fireworks, that also go to waste for singular events. It’s also only some of these structures that get burnt, the rest get recycled. One metal structure is by an artist that places theirs in an area that needs help rebuilding reef structure. It’s only one week, you can choose what ticket you pay for. I can assure you the average adult can pay <$1,000 for a week long experience lol, by saving. They’re not all Nepo. A LOT of wealthy people also camp and that’s okay. I want none of y’all to use gas in ur homes, or go on a plane, or drive a car, or mow ur lawn, or listen to bad artists, or eat beef, or do any that potentially damages out world. I think it’s hypocritical
