I’ve seen this one the full video on YouTube. I think he had to shoot someone and a kid was shot in the process

People don’t realize the courage it takes to say, “I’m not ok”.

it honestly takes alot for a responder to say no im not good especially directly after an incident far too many say they are and let it eat away for months or years

This breaks my heart. We just don’t know the horrible situations these guys come upon. Bless them both.

Good on that officer for recognizing he was not good, AND VOCALIZING. Feeling comfortable to vocalize.

First Responders can’t escape from the mental Horror of the situations they have seen. Give them the Respect they Deserve.

At least LT said no, he's not good. He didn't say he was fine. He needs a minute, so stay with him.

Men and women. It is absolutely okay to say you aren’t okay. The human brain is not meant to compartmentalize traumatic experiences and keep on pushing. You are absolutely allowed to not be okay after something traumatic. I’ve lost too many friends for the exact same reason. After my first time responding to an accident with injuries I saw a very young child that was ejected from the vehicle and I wasn’t okay, nothing bad happened because I said I wasn’t okay.

I have had to draw my service weapon more times than I could ever count I am so fortunate not to have this playing with the rest of loop when the ptsd gets bad.

an officer leaves their home and family each day to protect our homes and families and each day they deal with humanity on our worst day, robbed, assaulted, graped and worse and each day they deal with the worst of humanity those who cause all that pain and suffering

This is my why. Not all cops. They are only humans. They see things day in and day out. They keep going because they believe their mission is important.

I feel for this officer. I mean it truly when I tell all my crew that my phone is on 24/7, if anyone needs to talk, vent, an ear to listen, cry, whatever, I'm ALWAYS avaliable. lean on one another, only those in this type of field will understand

Once at 3am I was on patrol and chased a stolen auto and they tc’d into a tree. 2DOA, one fled. Worst moment of my life sitting there while the FD sirens got louder. I’ll never forget it.

After my OIS all the cops that I asked to stay with me walked off because it was awkward for them. Glad he had a good partner.

Nobody knows the struggle of what someone goes through in an incident like that. Having a brother like that makes the world of difference in this type of field
