someone correct me. but i thought the whole point of a cavity tray was to leas water in the cavity to the weep vents. but this is installed over the weep vent so how does that work? it looks fully sealed so water tracks to no where? ive seen regular installations fail and the water comes in through the window soffit. this just doesn't look like it would do the job it's intended to do. (side note compared to the comments) but if im wrong someone correct me

Plastic line running diagonally down, does the mortar have a good adhesive relationship with plastic? I would think it just creates a line of structural weakness
