When I was at mid michigan enchanted forest in July I found an anti AI at ren fair pin that I have on my brag rag now. AI is everywhere and I hate it.

i fear the ren fair is one of the FIRST places i’d expect AI. paying money to shop at a bunch of stalls with 3D printed crap and overpriced (fake) crystals? yeah they’re cheaping out the first chance they get

went to a VINTAGE MARKET. like thrift store booths and stuff. got tricked with ai art and they refused to take it back cause I realized too late. I was pissed.

as someone who has participated as a vendor at renfair. I'm not that surprised considering the past 2 years I've seen so many of those 3D printed trash dragons. this just feels like the natural evolution of that.

Ren Faire was literally the first place I started seeing it out in the wild. For a couple years now been seeing tons if people sell ai generated images in posters and wall scrolls. Just like how a few years before that it was the first place I saw that really leaned into selling mass amounts of mass 3d printed slop.

I’m so not surprised.. I love the people who go to the renaissance fair, the atmosphere and costumes, but at my ren faire, at least 1/3 of vendors sell overpriced drop-shipped items you can find on Amazon, fake crystals, cheap jewelry, or 3d printed junk…
