I’m in England so different to most people who would respond I imagine. It took 1 Doctor (my own GP) one appointment and received my HRT 10 minutes later from my local pharmacy. A few months before I started HRT there had been a change in law that enabled me to purchase a yearly prepayment subscription. This means that anything related to HRT (oestrogen and progesterone) will be covered by the yearly cost of £19.80. I’m extremely lucky that we have the NHS 🥰

I use MIDI health so I was able to get HRT pretty quickly. I $40 each for a 90 day supply of estrogen gel and a 60 day supply of progesterone pills.

3 MDs to get hormone help in perimenopause, and the 3rd told me no hormones after 52. I was miserable when I went off them. I went through MIDI myself and spend $22.50 per month total for 3 Rx after insurance.

1 doctor, 1 year. I told her that I thought I was going through perimenopause and she shrugged and said yeah probably. Nothing we can do about it. 1 year later I took a research article that you shared on TikTok and a couple of other articles, and told her that I was getting my doctorate and know how to research and that I want estrogen patches. She nodded and said oh ok. I guess since you have an IUD, it’ll be ok. I said according the one of the articles, it’s more than ok. I thought going to a female doctor, I wouldn’t get gaslighted but I did. Got my prescription and now I go to someone else. I feel so much better.

10 years, about 6 doctors and $75 a month IF the medication is in stock but often times I’m 4 weeks on the med, then have to wait 7-14 days for the med to come back in stock. My body is so messed up and I am miserable!

I’ve been asking for 5 years. I’m 51 but still have periods so my doctor doesn’t think “we’re there yet”. 😑 No worries. I’ve only gained 50 lbs, can’t sleep, have chin whiskers, struggle to string a sentence together, hate everything most days, have wildly varying periods, had frozen shoulder for over a year, and my hip feels like I’m 100.

Me: 4th doctor. Estrogen patch and progesterone oral cash pay is $75. If we went thru insurance it would be $150. My husband: first dr. He gets injectable testosterone at $4 for 90 day supply. Insurance covers at $4.

2 drs… had to wait until I was 1 ½ year past my last period to finally get the estradiol cream and the low dose patch! Omg! She made me feel like I was drug seeking. I was so struggling in perimenopause and now 54. At one point I couldn’t walk my hip pain was so bad. Hot flashes were debilitating. I’m still having issues getting a new prescription.. like just getting it renewed has been a two month back and forth struggle. It’s about $24 a month. She won’t do hormone testing she says we go off how you feel not numbers… ok than why couldn’t I get help when I felt like shit for 5+ years struggling with symptoms waiting for my period to stop to get help. Thanks for letting me vent. Love yall✌️

12 years. I traveled as far as 1000 miles away trying to find a Dr who could tell me why I felt so horrible. Didn’t know that perimenopause existed, till after I went thru menopause. Had never heard of peri, & no Dr suggested it. Now I pay $350/mo for patches, vag cream, progesterone pills & testosterone shots bc I have no insurance 😔

1st doc (GP) MRI and CT as my cognition was shot. No answers there - then went to gynecologist -immediately went on progesterone and estrogen patches and my cognition came back in five days. Boom. Done.

My own gyno, first time I asked. Combo oral. $36/mo. Called to add vaginal estradiol, sent rx right away. One tube $20-ish but will last way more than a month. I’m very, very lucky.

I actually went to a NP that a friend recommended. It’s been almost 3 years. I pay around $50 (3months) for Estrogen patches, $20 for a months) of oral progesterone, $67 (2 months)for topical progesterone and $67 (2 month) testosterone and $100 (3 months). It’s ridiculous
