I’ve just returned from Iceland yesterday. We flew from the UK. Stayed Monday - Friday. Hotel in Reykjavik and BLUE car hire. Don’t know the total cost of the holiday, but we spent over £1,500 just on food, drinks, snacks, car parks and fuel for the hire car. Some excursions like whale watching and the lava caves were booked and paid for prior to going Iceland. Gorgeous country, very expensive though.

You just reminded me how expensive Iceland is. There are ways to do it cheaper. Maybe rent an RV or sleeper van. Grocery shop for more of your food.
