Hy4 is also being trained around real workplace tasks such as creating documents, spreadsheets and presentations, analysing data and equations, working with financial models, and tackling complex scientific research problems. 📈🧪 And importantly… Tencent has open-sourced it. 🔓 Developers can access the model weights and experiment with Hy4 through platforms including Hugging Face, with deployment support through tools such as vLLM and SGLang and an OpenAI-compatible API. So could this actually challenge the biggest frontier AI models? 👀 Potentially, but there’s an important catch. Tencent itself calls this an early preview and acknowledges known limitations, including the model sometimes reasoning for longer than necessary and over-verifying its own work. So this isn’t automatically a “GPT/Claude killer”.
