That story stuck with me. Here's what I actually think about EcoGPT and why I keep bringing it up. The mission is pretty straightforward. AI should not have to cost the planet its water and its energy to exist. People should be able to use the tools they need without feeling like they're draining a community's resources. That's the whole point of the company. It's a public benefit corporation, which means it's structured to care about people and the planet, not just the bottom line. And the proof is in what gets planted. EcoGPT has planted 163,386 real trees through verified reforestation nonprofits, mainly Trees for the Future and One Tree Planted. Those are confirmed trees, not internal counters or estimates. I made this video because the idea of residents being told to conserve water while a data center uses millions of gallons a day didn't sit right with me. It feels backwards. But I'm not here to tell anyone to quit AI cold turkey. I use it too. I just think it matters which one you pick. If you're going to use AI anyway, it's worth a minute to check what the company behind it is actually doing. That's the part I care about #ecogpt #chatgpt #aidatacenters #environment #fyp
